Job summary

Pike Nurseries in the United States is seeking a Receiving/Inventory Associate to unload materials for install jobs and manage receiving documentation. The role requires coordinating with the Procurement Coordinator, updating Eagle records, and ensuring product quality and proper handling of plant material.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, coordinating transfers to stores, and occasional in-store work to support receiving, maintenance, loading, sales and delivery functions.

Qualifications

• Two year degree in Horticultural or three years in garden center sales/landscape installation.
• State certification within 1 year of job classification.

Responsibilities

• Unload all materials for install jobs from vendors and stores.
• Communicate status or discrepancies to Procurement Coordinator of installation orders.
• Finalize receiving documents in Eagle.
• Enter and track status of install jobs with Procurement Coordinator and stores.
• Create and receive transfer documents to retail stores.
• Conduct quarterly inventory cycle counts for accuracy.
• Assist in loading install jobs and verify quality and accuracy.
• Protect plant material from extreme cold when needed.
• Deliver products to job sites as required.
• Ensure high-quality products; process vendor credits for sub-standard items.
• Care for plant material shipped to holding yard.
• Label and separate all install jobs by customer on arrival.]
• Receive all materials and enter into Eagle per procedures.

Education, Prior Work Experience And Specialized Skills And Knowledge

• Two year degree in Horticultural or three (3) years in a garden center sales role or landscape installation.
• Is certified or becomes state Certified within one (1) year of job classification.
• Has a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate well with employees.
• Intermediate level of skills in Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Has the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Has the ability to use a 10-key calculator.
• Is able to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally.
• Is able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Is able to multi-task.
