Landscape Designer Position

Garden Party is growing! We’re looking to fill a newly created Landscape Designer position for the 2026 season and beyond. This role is remote and full-time, providing 30-40 hours of work per week.

In this role you will work closely with the Design team, Owner, and Operations Team in order to provide full-service design work for our residential clients. You will own the end-to-end design process at Garden Party, and can expect to consult and communicate with clients, perform site visits and take measurements, create conceptual, master, and detail drawings, prepare materials budgets and client-facing estimates, and more. This is a great opportunity for a skilled landscape designer to grow their career in a women-owned-and-operated landscaping business.

Start date: March 16, 2026
End date: The end of our landscaping season, approx Dec 11, 2026
2027 Season: Feb 01, 2027 - Dec 10, 2027

About You
  • You are passionate about landscape design and staying up to date with current trends in design and materials.
  • You value incorporating native plants and productive plant species into your designs.
  • You are knowledgeable about construction methods and landscape best practices.
  • You are a problem solver with attention to detail.
  • You enjoy working with a dynamic team and you can communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • You have experience with client work, and are adept in the education-forward communication style that this work requires.
  • You are self-motivated and a self-directed worker.
Job Requirements
  • Education background in Landscape Design or Landscape Architecture.
  • An understanding of horticulture and landscape construction as it applies to design.
  • Demonstrated design and technical proficiency with the design/drafting program of your choice.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive and G Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct client consultations and create subsequent design proposals.
  • Inventory of site including measurements and elevations.
  • Prepare concepts, master plans, and construction details within budget scope.
  • Present concepts and designs to clients; incorporate client feedback in timely manner.
  • Preparation of construction drawings and material takeoffs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, any necessary equipment rentals or permits, subcontractor quotes, etc.
  • Preparing shop drawings for fabricated items.
  • Acquiring estimates from suppliers and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with clients throughout duration of the design process.
