Summary

This position will oversee landscape architecture while supporting a wide range of design related efforts across high end hospitality, residential, and commercial developments as well as urban design. The role is intentionally versatile and requires a design professional with a strong, holistic understanding of the built environment including landscape architecture, architecture, and interior design.

Direct Supervisor: Vice President of Design

Location: Miami, FL

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage landscape architecture inclusive of the total exterior built environment, hardscape, pools, recreation, and resort activities, as well as horticultural environment and related design scopes across all project phases, from predevelopment through construction and closeout.
  • Coordinate and manage external consultants including landscape architects, civil engineers, architects, interior designers, lighting designers, and specialty vendors.
  • Review consultant drawings and design packages for accuracy, constructability, and consistency with overall project design intent.
  • Maintain quality control across all design related deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare and coordinate landscape related requests for proposals, including defining scope, evaluating consultant responses, and supporting consultant selection.
  • Assist in establishing, tracking, and maintaining landscape and design related budgets throughout all project phases, including coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Provide integrated design oversight with a broad lens, evaluating architecture, urban design, and landscape execution holistically rather than in isolation.
  • Conduct site visits to assess overall design implementation, including landscape installation, architectural detailing, interior finishes, and site and landscape lighting, and identify issues while coordinating resolution.
  • Support permitting, entitlement, and jurisdictional review processes related to site and design scopes.
  • Contribute to design development through sketches, diagrams, layouts, and graphic presentations as needed.
  • Produce and review visual materials including concept sketches, presentation boards, site diagrams, and design narratives.
  • Assist in specifying materials, finishes, planting palettes, site furnishings, and site and landscape lighting that support cohesive design intent across disciplines.
  • Respond to RFIs, submittals, and field conditions, providing timely and design conscious solutions.
  • Present design concepts, progress updates, and technical strategies to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior designers and support design standards related to documentation, graphics, and coordination workflows.
