Job summary

Dohner Landscaping Ltd. in Hudson, OH seeks a Landscape Crew Leader to guide a year‑round crew through maintenance, construction, and snow removal. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on productivity, quality workmanship, safety, and excellent client service.

In winter, you’ll also operate snow plow trucks and support snow operations. The position is full-time with year-round stability and growth potential into operations and management roles.

Qualifications

• 1+ year leading a landscaping crew or senior leadership role.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to job sites and equipment locations.
• Ability to operate landscape equipment and snow plow trucks.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead a landscape crew in maintenance, hardscape installation, plantings, and seasonal cleanups.
• Review daily scopes with the crew to meet quality standards.
• Operate landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members; promote safety and productivity.
• Maintain safe practices; ensure proper equipment use.
• Keep jobsites, vehicles, and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate progress, material needs, and scheduling with supervisors.
• Interact with clients professionally and provide excellent service.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and team performance.
• Serve as Snow Plow Driver during snow events; operate plow trucks safely.
• Respond to snow events; may include overnight or weekend work.
• Assist with salting, shoveling, and additional snow operations as needed.
• Support growth and advancement toward Operations, Estimating, or Management.

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Crew Leader to lead a landscaping crew through year-round operations, including landscape maintenance, landscape construction, and snow removal. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for maintaining productivity, ensuring quality workmanship, promoting safety, and delivering exceptional service on every project. During the winter season, this role also serves as a Snow Plow Driver, operating trucks and equipment during snow events.

This is a full-time, year-round position offering long-term career growth--not seasonal employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a landscape crew performing maintenance, hardscape installation, plantings, seasonal cleanups, and enhancement projects.
• Review daily job scopes with the crew and ensure work meets Dohner Landscaping's quality standards.
• Operate landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, and other industry equipment.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting a positive, productive work environment.
• Maintain safe work practices and ensure proper use of equipment at all times.
• Keep jobsites, vehicles, and equipment clean, organized, and professional.
• Communicate daily progress, material needs, scheduling updates, and project challenges with supervisors.
• Interact professionally with clients and represent the company with excellent customer service.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and team performance.
• Serve as a Snow Plow Driver during snow events from approximately November through April.
• Operate plow trucks safely while following assigned service routes.
• Respond to snow events, which may include overnight, early morning, weekend, and holiday work.
• Assist with salting, shoveling, and additional snow operations as needed.
• Support a culture of growth and advancement, with opportunities to develop into Operations, Estimating, or Management roles.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 1 year of experience leading a landscaping crew or serving in a senior crew leadership role.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to job sites and equipment locations.
• Ability to operate landscape equipment and snow plow trucks.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to leading by example.

Preferred

• Experience operating skid steers, loaders, or similar heavy equipment.
• Hardscape installation experience, including pavers, retaining walls, and grading.
• Irrigation and landscape lighting experience.
• Desire to grow into Operations, Estimating, or Management roles.

Pay & Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 position
• Summer pay: $20 to $25 per hour
• Winter pay: $25 to $40 per hour (depending on experience and equipment operated)
• Expected annual earnings of $60,000-$70,000+, including bonus opportunities
