Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader to guide a crew outdoors. Your office is the open air, with daily visibility of landscapes across sites in the Suffolk, VA area.

You will lead turf and landscape tasks, benefit from company training, and advance within an employee-owned organization offering a wide range of benefits and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: background in Horticulture or Landscaping.
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID knowledge.
• Ability to complete the Davey landscape career development books upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work.
• Enhances property appearance and value through daily grounds and turf maintenance.
• Plants, trims, mows, weeds, mulches, fertilizes and more as required.
• Learns to diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental turf and shrub conditions.
• Maintains open communication with management and clients to provide feedback on landscape needs.
• Drives, uses, maintains and operates landscape equipment.

• Learn to diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental turf and shrub conditions.
• Maintain open communication with management and clients to provide feedback on landscape needs.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate landscape equipment.
