Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Houston, TX is seeking a Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader to direct a crew and oversee daily grounds and turf maintenance on-site.

You will plant, trim, mow, and diagnose turf conditions, ensure quality, communicate with management and clients, and operate landscape equipment. This permanent, full-time role offers benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• 1 year leadership experience in landscape maintenance.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or equivalent.
• Background in horticulture or landscaping preferred.
• Knowledge of turf, weed, trees and shrubs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the crew and equipment to execute daily grounds and turf maintenance tasks.
• Ensure proper planting, trimming, mowing, weed control, mulching and related activities.
• Diagnose turf and shrub conditions and communicate needs to management.
• Maintain open communication with clients and management about landscape needs.
• Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely and efficiently.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your green career with us!
• Enhance the appearance and value of properties through direction of your crew in the execution of daily grounds and turf maintenance.
• Properly plant, trim, mow, weed, mulch, fertilize and so much more.
• Learn to diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental turf and shrub conditions.
• Maintain open communication with management and clients to provide feedback on landscape needs.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate landscape equipment.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• 1 year leadership experience in Landscape maintenance
• Prefered: Driver's License
• Preferred: background in Horticulture or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID knowledge
• Ability to complete the Davey landscape career development books upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
