Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking a Site Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial landscape development projects from inception through completion. You will lead crews, manage contractors, and ensure work aligns with contract specs, budget, and schedule.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in landscape architecture or related field, 3+ years' experience in landscape construction, irrigation, and concrete work, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape-related field or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscape, concrete, irrigation and construction production techniques.
• Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and basic computer skills.
• Strong work ethic and effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coach, evaluate, and train field staff in landscape construction services.
• Inspect field work; analyze problems and resolve them.
• Manage labor and subcontractors to keep labor budgets on track.
• Maintain daily/weekly activity logs and production reports.
• Distribute labor and equipment to job sites as needed.
• Oversee equipment utilization, storage, and maintenance.
• Ensure work meets contract specs, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborate with staff to satisfy external and internal customers.
• Promote a positive, people-oriented environment.
• Encourage safety compliance and weekly safety meetings.
• Model ethics and integrity, and reinforce company culture.

Job Summary

• The Site Superintendent manages field operations for commercial site development projects from inception through completion.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Coach, evaluate, and train staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services.
• Inspect all field work; analyze and resolve problems.
• Manage labor force & subcontractors to ensure labor budgets are on track.
• Maintain accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; update production tracking reports and generate other related reports as needed.
• Responsible for dispatch of labor and equipment to job sites
• Manage equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance.
• Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications and that drawings are within budget and on schedule.
• Collaborate with staff to meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers.
• Work collaboratively with others; foster a positive “people oriented” environment.
• Evaluate employee safety data and promote safe work practices or conditions;ensure employees attend weekly safety meetings.
• Demonstrate role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as promoting company culture.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, civil engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or related.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with landscape, concrete, irrigation, and construction production techniques
• Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery, and equipment
• Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Strong work ethic and effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service experience
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Physical Demands/Requirements

• Able to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
• Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
