Responsibilities

• Lead and organize field crews on residential and commercial projects

Work arrangement: Field-based; projects throughout a roughly 60-mile radius of Edwardsville, including the St. Louis area

Pay: $25 - $30 per hour

Sugarloaf Landscape Nursery is a family-owned and operated business with approximately 40 years of history. The company maintains a 10-acre nursery and completes residential and commercial landscape construction projects throughout Illinois and Missouri. Its work includes landscaping, hardscaping, retaining walls, paver patios, brick driveways, flat concrete, fences, and decks. Sugarloaf does not provide lawn-mowing services.

Sugarloaf Landscape Nursery is hiring two experienced Landscape Construction Crew Leads . This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can organize a crew, keep projects moving efficiently, and communicate professionally with homeowners and commercial project managers.

You will serve as a primary point of contact in the field and help ensure that each project is completed according to its schedule and scope. The ideal candidate has experience leading landscape construction or hardscape crews and is comfortable working across several types of outdoor construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and organize field crews on residential and commercial projects
• Coordinate daily work and keep team members focused and productive
• Help manage project schedules, timelines, and overall implementation
• Communicate project updates with the owner, homeowners, and commercial project managers
• Complete landscaping and hardscaping work alongside the crew
• Support projects involving pavers, retaining walls, flat concrete, fences, decks, sod, seed, straw, and landscape materials
• Coordinate or assist with ordering and picking up project materials
• Operate company vehicles when appropriately licensed
• Help care for company equipment and identify basic service needs
• Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and quality standards in the field

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant landscape construction, hardscape, concrete, or related field experience.
• Previous experience supervising or directing a field crew
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and project managers
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable licensing requirements for any company vehicles assigned to the position.
• Reliable transportation to the office or assigned jobsite when necessary
• Ability to work at project locations within approximately 60 miles of Edwardsville
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of managing work efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Concrete-finishing experience preferred
• Experience with hardscaping, retaining walls, pavers, fences, or decks
• Basic knowledge of diesel-powered equipment and routine equipment service
• Personal tools are welcome but not required

Pay and Benefits

• Full-Time, W-2 Employment
• Pay: $25 - $30 per hour, based on experience
