Assistant/Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture, Harvard Graduate School of Design

Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track assistant/associate professor (rank) in Landscape Architecture, focusing on design. The position will be based in the Department of Landscape Architecture and will address design, research, and pedagogy at the intersection of climate, urbanization, and equitable resource distribution.

Responsibilities
  • Teach required studio courses for the professional MLA programs and contribute to the core studio curriculum.
  • Engage with design students through thesis advising, guest critiques, and project reviews.
  • Develop and maintain a research program in areas such as material culture, climate, design innovation, geography, urbanization, or environment.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally in GSD’s interdisciplinary design school.
Basic Qualifications
  • Recognized record of distinguished accomplishment in landscape architecture academic or professional practice.
  • Graduate degree in landscape architecture preferred; related design field acceptable.
  • PhD desirable but not required.
Additional Qualifications
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: material culture, climate, design innovation, geography, design culture, urbanization, environment.
  • Cross‑disciplinary research and pedagogy ability.
