Job summary

EHRA Engineering in Houston seeks a Landscape Architect to work on master plans, public parks, trails and urban design projects. You will prepare construction documents with AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite, coordinate with clients and engineers, review plans on site and contribute creative, sustainable landscape solutions.

Experience with planting and irrigation design, 3-D visualization and strong problem-solving skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of professional landscape architecture experience.
  • TX licensure preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Confer with clients, engineers, and consultants to set goals, deadlines, budgets, and expectations.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents including site plans, details, specifications, cost estimates, and bid proposals.
  • Coordinate arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
  • Prepare graphic representations using CAD, SketchUp, and hand-drawing.
  • Select materials for landscape designs including plants, paving, fencing, signage, furnishings.
  • Inspect sites to ensure adherence to plans, codes, and contract documents.

Job description

The Landscape Architecture team works on a variety of project types such as master plans and design of public parks & trails, commercial developments, master-planned residential amenities, urban renewal & streetscapes, transportation projects, and Low-Impact Development (LID).

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Confer with clients, engineers, and other consultants to develop clear project goals, deadlines, budgets, and expectations.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents including but not limited to site plans, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, bid proposals.
  • Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
  • Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software, 3-D modeling (SketchUp), and hand-graphics.
  • Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs including plants, paving, fencing, signage, furnishings, etc.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure projects adhere to original design plans, codes, and contract documents.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Planting and Irrigation Design.
  • Visualization skills including 3-D Modeling and Rendering.

Education, certification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience.
  • Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Texas Preferred not required.
  • Technical knowledge of landscape architecture site development elements.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
