Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor waste, and ensure equipment is ready for duty.

The role requires at least two years of heavy equipment experience and at least one year on OSHA-regulated sites. You will document conditions, follow safety policies, keep the shop orderly, and support teammates as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and maintain cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Document Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized.
• Perform minor service on equipment; refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean.
