Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled equipment operator to safely operate forklifts, bobcats, backhoes and other machinery to bale, load, and move waste materials at our Apex, NC site. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, daily equipment inspections, and reliable teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a GED, forklift certification, and the ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
• Operate multiple heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste material.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate machinery; monitor fluids.
• Communicate with team via two-way radio to coordinate activities.
• Attend safety and branch meetings and follow all company policies.
