Job summary

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. is seeking a Land Use Specialist to manage the Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia real estate portfolio, handling rights of way, easements, permits, and leases.

You will oversee property boundaries, vegetation and hazard tree removal, shoreline activities, and recreation facilities, with travel across PA, MD, and WV facilities and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• University/college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years in real estate or land management.
• Experience in a complex, dynamic environment.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to PA/MD/WV facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in real estate transactions including purchase/sales agreements, ROWs, access easements, licenses, amendments, leases, dock permits.
• Protect company property rights and minimize liability through proactive actions.
• Lead property and recreation area inspections, licensing and permitting programs, and enforce land/shoreline policies.
• Ensure timely development and submission of letters/reports to meet state and federal requirements.
• Build relationships with regulatory agencies, communities, realtors, lakefront owners, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate vegetation maintenance and surveying contractors and enforce safety plans.
• Collaborate with agencies to obtain Erosion & Sedimentation Plans and General Permits.
• Oversee annual billing for leases and permits for assigned facilities.

Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, the Land Use Specialist will manage Brookfield’s Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia real estate portfolio by preparing, negotiating and executing real estate transactions for their assigned facilities including rights of way, easements, permits, and leases. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing management of property boundaries, vegetation and hazard tree removal, shoreline activities, and recreation facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist in the execution of real estate transactions including, but not limited to, purchase/sales agreements, right of ways, access easements, licenses, amendments, leases, dock permits;
• Protect and preserve company property and property rights through prevention and legal action as required while minimizing liability;
• Responsible for leading property and recreation area inspections, licensing and permitting programs, as well as enforcing land and shoreline management policies;
• Ensure timely development and submission of letters and reports to meet state and federal regulatory requirements;
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with regulatory agencies, community organizations, realtors, lakefront owners, campgrounds, general public, and other Stakeholders;
• Act as Project Manager for vegetation maintenance and surveying contractors to assist operations staff, including writing and enforcing job safety plans;
• Work with local, state and federal agencies to obtain Erosion & Sedimentation Plans and General Permits;
• Lead annual billing effort for leases and permits for their assigned facilities;

• Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and thoroughness.
• The position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license. A motor vehicle report that shows driving history, including information about your driver’s license, will be required if you are selected as the successful candidate;
• This role travels to facilities located in PA, MD and WV. Limited overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of University or College in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience, including real estate and/or land management
• Proven ability to work in complex, dynamic environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

Salary: $65k-85k/yr (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: 10%
