Job summary

Hunter Engineering Inc. is seeking a licensed Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) to lead surveying operations and provide professional oversight for diverse land development projects in the Phoenix area.

This role includes stamping survey documents and ensuring accuracy and compliance. The position requires a minimum of 5+ years of progressive surveying experience, strong knowledge of boundary law, and proficiency with GPS/GNSS, total stations, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RLS/PLS) license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive surveying experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of boundary law, surveying principles, and state regulations.
  • Proficiency with surveying equipment (GPS/GNSS, total stations, data collectors).
  • Experience with Trimble, Leica, or similar survey equipment.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

  • Perform GPS and boundary surveys; operate total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data collectors.
  • Review and certify survey plats, legal descriptions, and technical reports.
  • Prepare records of surveys, subdivision maps, and file land court documents.
  • Manage survey crews and mentor junior surveyors.
  • Conduct field reconnaissance and establish survey control.
  • Interface directly with clients, attorneys, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with state surveying laws and professional standards.
  • Resolve boundary disputes and research complex title issues.
