Crawford Thomas Recruiting’s client in Urbandale, IA seeks a Land Surveyor in Training to assist the Professional Land Surveyor with research, documentation, office work and fieldwork on diverse projects. This role provides hands-on exposure across transportation, municipal, commercial, industrial and residential development, with a clear path toward licensure.

Qualifications

• LSIT certification or pursuing it.
• Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Mathematics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Understanding of coordinate systems and vertical datums.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough research of land records using government offices and online resources.
• Complete boundary calculations using fundamental surveying principles to establish property, right-of-way, and easement lines.
• Prepare land survey documents including boundary retracement surveys, plats of survey, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, easement/acquisition plats, final plats, and associated legal descriptions.
• Ensure survey documents comply with applicable state and local ordinances.
• Review titles and abstracts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

LSIT Certification or actively working toward certification

Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Mathematics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
