Job summary

EVstudio in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Lead Land Surveyor to anchor our Boise team. This senior role will own technical excellence, guide junior staff, and collaborate across architecture, MEP, civil, and structural teams within a dynamic design firm.

Qualifications

  • Active PLS license required or obtainable soon.
  • Typically 10+ years of progressive surveying experience.
  • Proficient with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
  • Strong knowledge of Idaho survey law.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with limited oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects from proposal through delivery.
  • Oversee regional strategy, BD efforts, and final hiring decisions as we form a team around YOU
  • Develop survey methodologies, QA/QC workflows, and project standards.
  • Oversee field crews; provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Prepare, certify, and review plats, legal descriptions, and other survey documents.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and planners to integrate survey data into design workflows.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and communication with clients and jurisdictional authorities.

What you'll do:

EVstudio is seeking a Lead Land Surveyor to anchor our Boise team. This is a high-impact role for a licensed Surveyor who’s ready to take ownership of technical excellence, grow a Boise-based team, and collaborate across disciplines within a dynamic and integrated design firm. As the senior-most Surveying professional in our Boise office, you’ll be shaping project delivery, guiding junior staff, and collaborating closely with our architecture, MEP, civil, and structural teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects from proposal through delivery.
  • Oversee regional strategy, BD efforts, and final hiring decisions as we form a team around YOU
  • Develop survey methodologies, QA/QC workflows, and project standards.
  • Oversee field crews; provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Prepare, certify, and review plats, legal descriptions, and other survey documents.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and planners to integrate survey data into design workflows.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and communication with clients and jurisdictional authorities.
  • Support business development through scoping, proposals, and client meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Active PLS license (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
  • Typically, 10+ years of progressive surveying experience, including project leadership.
  • Proficiency with modern survey equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors) and software (Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or equivalents).
  • Strong understanding of Idaho survey law, platting requirements, and land-use processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with limited oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What We Offer:

We are targeting a base salary of $120,000 to $150,000, but is determined by several factors including education, experience, and a history of working in the given metro area.
