Job summary

TC Energy seeks an experienced land rights professional to oversee land and right-of-way activities across US operations. You will manage acquisitions, permits, and negotiations with landowners and agencies, and coordinate with project teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain landowner and contractor relationships across US operations
  • Assist Project Management in acquiring surface rights, permits and land access agreements
  • Report directly to the leader of US Land Projects
  • Supervise and oversee third-party contract land personnel
  • Manage contract land personnel negotiating agreements and permits and tracking progress with landowners and agencies
  • Collaborate with internal clients to resolve land-related responsibilities and issues
  • Represent TC Energy with landowners, industry associations, regulatory agencies and the general public
  • Coordinate and lead non-environmental permitting activities, including road use maintenance agreements, heavy haul permits, utility relocations and crossings
  • Conduct project planning, budget forecasting and risk assessment for Land Services and project teams
  • Develop, coordinate, manage and track land-related budgets, including acquisition and contractor costs

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years of combined applicable academic training, certification and related experience in the natural gas pipeline industry
  • Experience in land and right of way acquisition in the natural gas pipeline industry
  • Experience in post construction land damages settlements
  • Experience with non-environmental permitting acquisition with third party impacts such as DOH/DOT agencies
  • Familiarity with state and federal (FERC) pipeline regulations and requirements
  • Ability to maintain schedules and meet critical project deadlines
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • Graduate in Business Administration, Energy Land Management or Petroleum Land Management
  • AAPL or IRWA membership and industry specific designations such as RPL, CPL, RWP or SR/WA
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a directly related discipline
  • A combination of direct or transferrable skills and work experiences
  • Leadership skills, including technical expertise, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and networking abilities
  • Ability to make decisions requiring judgment and independent action
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and across various business units
  • Expert communication skills with high proficiency in public speaking
  • Strong team-player and self-motivated individual with organizational skills
  • Ability to travel within the US approximately 75% of the time and provide applicable documentation
  • Successful completion of security clearance/criminal check may be required
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions
