Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a licensed Project Engineer to join our Land Development (Civil/Site) team in our Lansing, MI office!

We engage with our clients as a strategic partner, providing complete civil and site consulting and engineering services to both public and private clients. Our services include comprehensive site feasibility evaluations to identify potential pitfalls and develop strategies to overcome them. We have extensive experience in traditional residential development and various commercial project types, including office, retail, financial, educational, restaurant, mixed-use, healthcare, landfill, energy, industrial, and warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Design land development projects using Civil 3D, including site, grading, and utilities.
• Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations.
• Apply knowledge of stormwater management design regulations.
• Perform grading design to ensure value engineering through earthwork analysis and site safety using appropriate slopes.
• Design utility systems including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer service, pump stations, water, gas, and telephone services, and resolve utility conflicts.
• Design soil erosion and sediment control measures, including stability calculations, best management practices, swale and spillway design, and construction sequencing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• At least 5 years of related land development (civil/site) experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts from concept to completion.
• Experience with MicroStation, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-HMS/-RAS, OpenRoads, and InRoads is a plus.
• Experience in business development, project management, client interactions, or estimating costs is a plus.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and related site development designs.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
