Job summary

Larson Design Group in Williamsport, PA is seeking an Engineering Associate on the professional Engineer license track. This entry-level role applies basic to intermediate engineering principles to complete design computations, prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications, and assist with submittals.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering.
  • No full-time experience required; internships preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D for site layout and related designs.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Reviews submittals and coordinates project submissions.
  • Prepares and reviews specifications, draft letters, and technical reports.
  • Completes inspections and field work assignments as needed.
  • Researches and applies regulations, codes, and permit requirements.
  • Maintains documentation of work and project records.
  • Ensures compliance with codes and standards.
  • Develops technically accurate, clean deliverables.
  • Supports QA/QC processes to reduce errors.

Your Opportunity + Impact

The Engineering Associate is an entry-level technical role who is on the professional Engineer license track that will apply basic to intermediate engineering principles to complete design computations, prepare written technical reports, design plans, and details. The Engineering Associate may be called upon to make minor project decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Reviews submittals and coordinates project submissions.
  • Prepares and reviews specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
  • Completes inspections and field work assignments as needed.
  • Researches, reviews, interprets, and understands written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and applies them to design projects.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of work and project records.
  • Possesses knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
  • Develops technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
  • Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
  • Performs work within assigned budgets.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in position relevant Engineering field from ABET accredited school.
  • Experience: No previous relevant work experience is required. Prior internships in the A/E industry is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the engineering field.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D,to be used for Site Layout, Grading, Utility, and Storm Water Management Plan design and/or other discipline-specific programs preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
