Job summary

HCB Yachts is seeking a production laminator to lay up and trim composite decks, hulls and liners using chop/mat, biaxial, woven and foam. You will apply fiberglass and resin to molds and keep work areas clean and safe in a fast-paced plant environment.

Ideal candidates have lamination experience, can read and follow instructions, and communicate in conversational English. PPE is required and adherence to safety policies is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum education level required, however GED or equivalent preferred.
• Previous lamination experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and understand instructions.

Responsibilities

• Laying in and rolling chop/mat, biaxial, woven and foam into decks, hulls and liners.
• Apply sheets of fiberglass and liquid resin to mold and smooth with brushes and rollers.
• Reports to work on time for designated shift.
• Adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
• Sprays fiberglass and/or lays sheets of fiberglass on part mold.
• Cuts and trims material to fit part using scissors and knife.
• Uses resin gun to wet out part.
• Air rolls part using air roller to remove air bubbles.
• Maintains wet out system, cleans tools, and disposes of chemicals in proper areas.
• Responsible for clean and orderly workstation.
• Move parts from station to station.

Environmental Conditions:

Must wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, apron, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, safety glasses and a respirator.

Plant environment varies with outside temperature and noise levels vary in different production areas.

Language skills -

Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English.

Reasoning skills -

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
