Job summary

Saint Luke’s East Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Lactation Consultant to join the team. The role focuses on education and support for nursing mothers and staff, with duties spanning assessment, planning, and evaluation of lactation services.

The ideal candidate holds an IBCLC certification and an associate degree, with BLS required. This position contributes to Saint Luke’s community education efforts and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold IBCLC certification.
• Less than 1 year of applicable experience in lactation support.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Associate Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model consultant, change agent, instructor and facilitator in lactation education.
• Assess learning needs and plan, implement and evaluate lactation support for mothers and staff.
• Represent Lactation Services at Saint Luke's and provide community education.
• Promote and support a high-quality professional practice environment and patient care.

Position: Lactation Consultant

Schedule: Part Time, 24 hours, Days

Must be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

Lactation Specialist serves as a role model consultant change agent instructor and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning implementing and evaluating the needs of the nursing mother and of the nursing staff related to lactation and breast feeding.

Represents Lactation Services at Saint Luke's in providing education to the community as requested.

Promotes and supports the professional practice environment maximum performance and quality patient care.

Job Requirements: Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Intl Board Certified Lactation Consult - International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners Associate Degree.
