The Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is seeking a qualified Lactation Consultant to join the Patient Care Services team. This role assesses, develops, and implements culturally appropriate care plans to support breastfeeding patients and communicates openly with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

You will participate in creating handouts and protocols, provide outpatient consultations and telephone guidance, and help improve lactation services through data

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• IBCLC certification required.

Responsabilités

• Participate in development of breastfeeding handouts, protocols and education for staff and parents. Make appropriate referrals to support the patient’s desire to breastfeed (i.e. breast pump rental or Durable Medical Equipment providers).
• Incorporate age-specific, developmental needs, prevention strategies, and education into plans of care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to resolve inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding issues.
• Provide outpatient lactation consultations and telephone guidance to families.
• Participate in gathering of statistics, chart reviews or other activities to improve the quality of Lactation Services.

About the Job:

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Lactation Consultant assesses, develops, and implements a culturally appropriate plan of care to support the breastfeeding patient.
