Job summary

Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse with lactation expertise to coordinate breastfeeding education for patients and staff. The role requires active NV RN license, IBCLC/CLC certification, BLS and NRP, and at least 3 years of nursing experience (1 year in obstetrics) focused on lactation support.

• RN license in Nevada required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient and staff education to support breastfeeding.
• Provide clinical guidance on lactation care in obstetric units.
• Promote evidence-based breastfeeding practices.
• Collaborate with NICU and women’s services teams.

Job Description:

Provides coordination of patient and staff education to support, protect, and promote breastfeeding.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience, at least one year in obstetric setting with focus on the breast-feeding process required.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the current Nevada State Board of Nursing Practice.

License/Certification:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada is required. Association with professional nursing associations related to practice. Current IBCLS/IBCLC or CLC certification is required. Current BLS and NRP required.

Other:

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
