Job summary

Terrebonne General Health System is seeking a lactation services nurse to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate care for breastfeeding mothers. You will educate clinicians across the organization and share lactation product evaluations with the team.

The role emphasizes strong nursing credentials, leadership, and potential BSN advancement. Experience in maternal-child nursing is required or strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse or LPN with 3–5 years’ experience as a maternal-child nurse.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Prefer 4,000 breastfeeding consultancy practice hours.
• Prefer BSN degree or enrollment in a Bachelor’s program.
• Board certification eligibility within the 1st year employment.

Position Description:

Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates care for breastfeeding mothers. Responsible to the mothers she sees to provide the most accurate up-to-date information and appropriate assistance. Also responsible for educating the health-care providers to meet the needs of breastfeeding mothers throughout the organization. Furthermore, evaluates products related to lactation and share her evaluation with others.

Qualifications:

2. Demonstrate leadership skills.
