Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach or Activity Sponsorship Coach to lead and manage our student-athlete programs at the secondary level. The role requires delivering technical instruction, ensuring safety, and promoting discipline, good sportsmanship, and a positive learning environment.

The position entails coordinating practices, games, and meetings, while collaborating with coaches and staff and maintaining adherence to VHSL and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous experience in the sport/activity sponsorship program preferred.
• Completion of VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, and background check)

Responsibilities

• Oversee or lead all aspects of the sport or activity sponsor program.
• Plan and conduct effective practices/competitions or meetings.
• Supervise and/or support colleagues or coaches.
• Collaborate with other colleagues, coaches and demonstrate appropriate behavior amongst students.
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district and school policies.
• Manage scheduling and program organization appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and school administration.
