Los Alamos National Security LLC seeks a Labware LIMS Developer to support the Analytical Actinide Chemistry Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory. You will work with SMEs to design, develop, test, and validate LabWare LIMS solutions for analytical chemistry operations across facilities.
Roles are at LabWare LIMS Developer 1 or 2, requiring LIMS development experience and basic coding ability. A team-oriented, quality-focused approach is essential.
As a Labware Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Developer for the Analytical Actinide Chemistry Group (C-AAC), the successful candidate(s) will work with SMEs to develop both hardware and software solutions in support of analytical chemistry operations across several nuclear facilities. Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting, and implementing software solutions. Works with the LIMS team lead; other developers; project and program managers; and end users to understand needs and develop solutions. Develops concepts for information system solutions and evaluates the cost effectiveness of those concepts. Works collaboratively as part of a team, providing leadership and mentorship for others. Fosters strong relationships with customers, peers, and service providers. Identifies and addresses productivity impediments and promotes work process improvements.
This position will be filled at either the Computing Systems Professional Level 1 or Level 2, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, the upper level Labware LIMS Developer serves as a primary interface with technical, group management, and project management representatives. It is also expected that individuals at this level would:

This position will be located in Los Alamos, New Mexico with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Located in beautiful northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Actinide Analytical Chemistry (C-AAC) Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory provides expertise in chemical and radiochemical analysis of materials where actinide elements make up a significant portion of the sample. These analyses range from assay of the major components down to trace analysis of impurities - spanning over seven orders of magnitude of chemical analysis capability. In support of these capabilities, the group has the key facilities, glove boxes, hoods, analytical instrumentation, and technical expertise for safely handling and analyzing milligram to kilogram quantities of special nuclear material.

Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
