Job summary

ZTEX Construction is seeking a Laborer in El Paso for entry-level duties in earthwork, concrete, and site preparation. You will assist skilled tradespeople, operate hand/power tools, and help maintain project safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include shoveling, material handling, site clean-up, and following written or oral instructions. A drug screen and background checks may be required; reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are expected. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 1+ yrs. of previous work experience preferably in the construction industry.
• Must be able to follow instructions and comply with our Safety rules and Procedures.
• Ability to work hard, positive attitude and get along well with team.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written or oral instructions.

ZTEX Construction is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, concrete, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and overall project management. What do Laborers do in a construction projects?

They perform essential manual tasks, including cleaning, loading/unloading materials, and assisting skilled tradespeople in our construction projects. They operate hand/power tools and machinery to ensure project efficiency and safety.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements, heat/cold temperatures, wind, rain, blowing dust
• Able to work around moving equipment and tolerate loud noise levels
• Bend and stoop repeatedly throughout the day
• Able to push, pull and lift 50+lbs
• Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Able to walk on rough, rocky and uneven surfaces at construction sites

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical screening. If applicable to the contract, you may also be required to submit through a background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must have a valid driver's license at time of application.
