Job description

Position Summary

The Transfer Station Laborer performs general labor duties at a transfer station, including tasks such as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, office maintenance, and other related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with unloading their trash.
  • Inspect loads for unacceptable materials to ensure safety for customers and employees.
  • Pull recyclable materials to be brought to the MRF and properly dispose of them.
  • Maintain the facility by sweeping floors, cleaning, picking up around solid waste stations, mowing grass, moving snow, and scraping ice.
  • Participate in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services.
  • Perform any other duties necessary to support the company's vision, mission, and core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be self-directed, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to safety and reliability, are required.
