Job summary

Texstar Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Laborer III for our Telecom Underground team. You will perform advanced construction tasks, operate and maintain equipment, read plans, and support supervisors with project execution in a field setting.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and mentoring junior laborers while ensuring quality and on‑time project delivery. This is a demanding field position with opportunities for skill growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years in underground telecommunications construction or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of construction equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, job plans and technical specs.
• Able to work independently and in team environments.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and extended hours as needed.
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced equipment for underground projects.
• Install and maintain complex underground telecommunications cable with precision and adherence to specs.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on construction equipment.
• Assist supervisors with project plans, material management and task prioritization.
• Provide support to small workgroups to meet project goals on time and safely.
• Complete and verify detailed production reports to maintain accurate project records.
• Assist with site restoration, including final grading and landscaping as required.
• Identify and address potential safety and operational issues proactively.
• Train and mentor Level I and II laborers to improve skills and knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need
