Job summary

North Sky Communications LLC is seeking a Laborer II on our Telecom Underground team. You will take on advanced responsibilities in underground construction, operating equipment and assisting with installation and maintenance of cable to meet project specs.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability with potential overtime to meet deadlines. You will work in all weather conditions and contribute to high-quality project completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to operate construction equipment safely and reliably.
• Comfort working independently and in team settings.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating equipment for underground projects.
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cable with precision per specs.
• Operate and inspect construction equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors on project goals.
• Submit detailed daily production reports documenting progress.
• Assist with site restoration including final grading and landscaping as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Collaborate with Level I laborers to support projects.
• Work in all weather conditions to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Perform highly skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced equipment for underground projects
• Install and maintain complex underground telecommunications cable with precision and adherence to project specifications
• Operate and inspect construction equipment to ensure safety and reliability
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to align on project objectives
• Complete and submit detailed daily production reports to track progress
• Assist with site restoration efforts, including final grading and landscaping, to meet client expectations
• Follow safety protocols and comply with company policies and regulations
• Collaborate with Level I laborers as needed to support projects
• Work in all weather conditions to meet project deadlines
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• At least 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• 2+ years of experience operating construction equipment, utility trucks, or performing similar tasks
• Strong ability to work independently and contribute in team environments
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
• Effective communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level. Operate vehicles and heavy machinery. Perform tasks requiring fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard, and mouse

The wage range for Laborer Telecom Underground II w/CDL is $25.00 - $28.00.
