The Laborer will complete general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor. Duties may include all phases of underground construction including but not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.

What you’ll do as a Laborer

• Dig using hand shovel and mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb in and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies.
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Must pass a background check and company drug screening
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• Valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License

Additional qualifications

• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment safely
• Experience in utility construction industry (preferred)
• Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
• Availability for overtime, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on-call
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Note: This position is safety sensitive.

Pay Range: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
