Job summary

TAK Broadband is seeking entry level and experienced Laborers for Prescott Valley, AZ, to support aerial and underground telecom construction. You will trench, place conduit, handle materials, and assist fiber installations while learning maps, schematics, and network designs.

Compensation is $19–$28 per hour DOE with full benefits, paid time off, a 401(k) match, and per diem/housing for out-of-area work. Must travel and pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in overhead fiber construction is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of coax and fiber network architecture, design and BOM is a plus.
  • Ability to read maps, drawings, schematics, and project docs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Knowledge of city, county and state clearance codes.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Field certifications (e.g., climbing, Flagger) are a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to report to the yard daily; company vehicle provided for travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labor such as trenching, site prep, conduit placement and general construction support.
  • Assist with fiber installation activities including blowing, pulling, and repair of underground fiber and coax lines.
  • Support aerial and underground crews; troubleshoot RF and fiber issues.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment; assist with setup of reel trailers, line trucks, bucket trucks, drills.
  • Move materials, clean sites, and manage routine maintenance.
  • Read maps and project diagrams; learn inventory and material requirements for each build.
  • Follow safety procedures and NESC guidelines; maintain a safe work environment.
  • Travel within a 75-mile radius with possible overnight stays.

We are seeking entry level and experienced Laborers (Class A CDL preferred) to join our construction team in Prescott Valley, AZ and the surrounding areas (Sedona, Flagstaff, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, etc. - need to be able to travel with crew). In this role you will support both aerial and underground telecom construction by performing hands‑on tasks such as trenching, conduit placement, material handling, and fiber installation. You will assist with fiber blowing, basic troubleshooting, and equipment operation while learning to read maps, schematics, and network designs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, values safety, and wants to grow their technical skills in fiber networks

The Role
  • Perform a variety of manual labor tasks including trenching, site preparation, conduit placement, and general construction support using standard hand tools
  • Assist with fiber installation activities such as fiber blowing, pulling, and relocating RF and fiber services, as well as constructing and repairing underground fiber and coax lines
  • Support aerial and underground crews as trained, including basic troubleshooting of RF and fiber issues
  • Operate vehicles, trailers, and equipment as certified, and assist with equipment setup such as reel trailers, line trucks, bucket trucks, saws, and drills
  • Handle material movement, job site cleanup, and routine maintenance tasks as directed
  • Read maps, design schematics, and project diagrams, and learn required inventory and materials for each build
  • Follow all safety procedures, adhere to NESC guidelines, and maintain a safe work environment on every job site
  • Travel within 75 mile radius with some possible overnight stays
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

  • Ability to travel within 75-mile radius with some possible overnight stays
  • Effective verbal, written, and phone communication skills
  • Able to perform well in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
  • Interest in long‑term, ongoing project work
  • Must provide a valid government‑issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre‑employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
