Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is seeking a labor-oriented team member in New Jersey for outdoor, physically demanding work. The role includes site cleanup, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and assisting with traffic control while adhering to safety standards.

Applicants should be able to lift 50 pounds, work in varying weather, and have a valid driver's license preferred. This full-time position offers daily shifts from Monday to Friday, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
• Experience operating equipment is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• General construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, pulling.
• Perform traffic control such as guiding vehicles and equipment to appropriate areas, placing signs and cones for vehicle direction.
• Effective communication with drivers, employees, and management via hand held radios and CBs.
• Perform site clean-up.
• Clean up of vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Driving employees to their work stations as needed.
• Fuel vehicles and equipment.
• Set-up/ secure wind fences and landfill coverings.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
• Perform other duties assigned by manager as necessary.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States


• 1 year of relevant labor experience is preferred


• Able to work in an outdoor environment on a constant basis while being exposed to variable weather conditions, temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, smells, and loud noises.


• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds


• Experience operating equipment is a plus


• Valid Driver's License preferred
