AMEWAS, Inc. is hiring a Laborer-Junior to support Guardian Software Development and related infrastructure on-site at Patuxent River, MD. The role involves entry-level maintenance on facilities, assisting senior technicians, and ensuring documentation is kept up to date.

The position requires DoD Secret Clearance onboarding, projects in a defense environment, and no remote work. You will work with a team delivering safe, reliable support for US DoD missions.

The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Laborer-Junior. The hourly range of this position is $17.41/hour. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Work Arrangement

Position Background

The Guardian Software Development team is responsible for periodic releases of the components that make up the Guardian Software Suite. They will provide safety critical engineering services for the Atlantic Test Range Guardian systems. The team provides engineering services to include Software Engineering, Independent Software and System Testing, System Fabrication, Information Technology (IT), Financial Management Analyst support, etc. to the Guardian program. Software Engineers support will include but not limited to design, development, documentation and testing of all components that make up the Guardian System software suite. The team will provide location site surveys, site installations and customer support services along with system component acquisition, publication development and configuration management.

A Typical Day As a Laborer-Junior May Include

• Performs entry-level maintenance and repair actions on infrastructure, equipment, systems, shelters and non-NAVFAC facilities
• Completes tasks that are reviewed by more experienced/senior facilities maintenance technicians
• Assists senior facilities maintenance technicians with diagnosing infrastructure problems

Must-haves

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Experience completing orders on assembly lines
• Experience supervising assembly lines
• Experience maintaining paperwork and documentation legal paperwork

• Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): N/A
• Current clearance required upon onboarding: DoD Secret Clearance
• Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract. U.S. Citizenship is required for all clearances.

Desired Skills

• Experience with inventory management (tracking, monitoring, ordering products/parts, etc.)
• Experience manufacturing low voltage wiring/cabling (CAT 5, 6, 7)
• Proficiency in running network cabling and performing cable management

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in the field for a majority of their day, on site versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for part of the day.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
