Lyon County is seeking a laborer to support the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges in Emporia, KS. The role is non-exempt with a solid base pay of $18.00/hr, plus benefits including PTO, health, dental and vision insurance, and vendor discounts.
Must be safety minded and able to work in extreme weather; some call-outs at night or on weekends are possible. Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and a Kansas driver’s license (Class C preferred).

As a Lyon County laborer, you will assist the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges. Must be safety minded willing and capable of working in extreme weather conditions and is labor intensive. This position will involve occasionally responding to call-outs (potentially at all hours) during nights and weekends. Other duties as assigned. Non-exempt position with a solid base pay $18.00/hr. and benefits including, paid time off (accounts credited at 10 hours vacation and 8 hours sick per month worked), vendor discounts, health, dental and vision insurance and much more! This is a non-exempt position* responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and operating selected types of light equipment involved in highway maintenance activities.
