Copperas Cove is seeking a full-time drainage worker to perform unskilled to semi-skilled drainage tasks and operate various maintenance equipment. The role involves outdoor, physically demanding labor on City drainage facilities and systems, with occasional on-call shifts and a focus on safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, driving and loading trucks, performing inspections and preventive maintenance, and assisting in construction and repair projects.

Performs a variety of unskilled or semi‑skilled drainage work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City drainage facilities and systems.
Receives direct supervision from Superintendent Street/Drainage.
Formal application; review of education and experience; oral interview; background check; successful completion of a drug screen; job related test may be required.
Motorized vehicles and equipment, including zero turn riding mowers, dump truck, pickup truck, utility truck, tamper, plate compactor, saws, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, chain saws, mobile radio, phone, ditch witch, and weed eaters.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work outdoors. The employee usually works near moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, vibrations and other hazards associated within an outside work environment. Additionally the employee occasionally works in wet or humid conditions, in high and precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, and there is the risk of electrical shock.
