Job summary

Qualifications

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Pour concrete forms and use proper vibration techniques.
• Load, transport, and furnish materials to craftsmen.
• Level earth to fine grade specs using hand tools.
• Use hand signals to communicate with operators of construction equipment.
• Erect scaffolding, shoring, and bracing.
• Demolish buildings, saw lumber, strip forms, and attach insulating material.
• Keep work area clean and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in lifting and positioning materials for installation.
• Perform maintenance or cleaning activities.
• Perform other duties as requested by Foreman or Project Superintendent.

Overview

Laborer

Reports Directly to: Foreman or Project Superintendent

Direct Reports: NA

Non-Exempt

Primary Purpose: Supports carpenters, cement mason, IW, MW, and pipe fitters in performing and wide range of duties and activities. Also, works with a sense of urgency. Performs quality work, works safely, and productively, is reliable, and is punctual.

Duties:

• • Pour concrete forms, and employ proper vibration techniques.
  • Load, transport, unload, and furnish experienced craft workers with materials.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications, using hand tools as required.
  • Employ hand signals to communicate to operators of construction equipment for lifting, installing, and hoisting work done by laborers.
  • Erect scaffolding, shoring, and bracing.
  • Demolish buildings saw lumber, strip forms, and attach insulating material.
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials, as necessary.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
  • Perform maintenance or cleaning activities
  • Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

• Assist in the employment processes as requested.
• Conform to all company policies, procedures, etc. (Ex. New hire sign-off – safety manual, etc.)

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Work is often performed outside under any type of weather conditions. Exposure to varying degrees/amounts of heat, cold, dust, dampness, ice, precipitation, and mud. Must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects and materials; lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively to meet the physical demands of our industry. Stand or walk, stoop kneel crouch and crawl for long periods of time must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction).
