Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is seeking workers to support electrical, gas, and telecom infrastructure projects. You will assist crews with construction, maintenance, and underground tasks, operating alongside skilled operators and using a range of tools.

A strong safety mindset and reliability are essential as you help prepare sites and ensure smooth daily progress. The position pays $20.00–$22.00 per hour and requires a high school diploma (CDL A is a plus).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CDL A license is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist crew leader in construction/reconstruction and maintenance work.
  • Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions.
  • Work with jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump trucks.
  • Prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

Job description

Peak Utility Infrastructure is an integrated engineering and construction company that serves the Electric, Natural Gas, and Telecommunications industries. We provide a full suite of engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services, including repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of natural gas, telecommunications, and electric infrastructure through our operating subsidiaries: SiteWise, Kelly Cable, Riley Brothers, and Superior Pipeline Services.

Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work
  • Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions
  • Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Experience working with underground utilities desiredCDL A is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
