Job description

Position Summary

The Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at construction projects. The position may involve operating a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers, and operates within one or more areas in a continuous flow to meet production and quality standards.

Job Duties

• Follow all safety policies and procedures defined by the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work-related injuries.
• Perform general construction labor, including jobsite clean-up and moving materials by hand.
• Operate motorized equipment, including power tools and non-power tools.
• Work requires alertness, good balance, and physical strength.
• Work during inclement weather, with possible exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and dust or debris from construction operations depending on the project site.

Minimum Qualifications

• Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds of material or equipment, and up to 90 pounds at times with assistance, if requested.
• Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Frequent use of hand and power tools.

• Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to job site locations, which will be throughout the state of Florida.
• Safety & Communication Requirement: Ability to communicate proficiently in English is required for critical onsite safety reasons. Must be able to understand, read, and respond immediately to verbal safety commands, hazard warnings, emergency alerts, and written safety protocols, including instructions from the Foreman, crew members, and Superintendent.
