Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a responsible Laborer to support our operations at an on-site facility in Tomball, Texas. This role requires performing a wide range of physically demanding tasks under supervision while upholding strict safety standards.

You will work in dynamic outdoor environments, handling excavation, concrete-related activities, and general facility maintenance. You should have a High School Diploma and experience with MSHA or OSHA, plus the ability to read, write, and communicate

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Experience with MSHA or OSHA, operating hoses, unloading material, and rail car duties.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively; bilingual a plus; safety-focused and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance and wear protective equipment at all times.
• Adhere to safety standards and Cemex/OSHA rules.
• Perform excavation, digging, trenching, and backfilling with care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Assist with concrete work, form handling, and mixing.
• Conduct minor repairs and provide basic maintenance support.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by management.
• Perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, stooping and shoveling.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for a responsible and skilled Laborer to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of physically demanding tasks under supervision. This role requires dedication to completing tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Laborer at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Cemex and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations, always wearing proper safety equipment.
• Safety Standards: Strive to meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Excavation and Digging: Execute digging, excavating, trenching, and backfilling operations with precision.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Concrete Work: Construct and dismantle forms for concrete and assist with concrete and castable mixing and pouring.
• Minor Repairs: Engage in minor maintenance and repair activities, providing support where needed.
• Additional Duties: Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management.
• Physical Tasks: Perform various physical tasks including bending, squatting, stooping, sweeping, and shoveling.

To Succeed In This Role, You Should Bring

• Educational and Licensing Requirements: High School Diploma.
• Experience: Experience with MSHA or OSHA, operating hoses, unloading material, utilizing the rail car, and other duties related to the business.
• Skills: Ability to read, write & communicate effective. Bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to adjust to different tasks and work environments. Consistent performance and attendance. Prioritizing safety in all operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Safety First: Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols is a must.
• Dynamic Environment: You’ll work in diverse environments, including exposure to varying conditions such as outdoor industrial operations settings.
• Physical Requirements: Expect frequent walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, and climbing as part of your daily routine.
