Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking an Environmental Laborer (Temporary) in Sahuarita, AZ.

Reporting to Senior Environmental Scientist, this role supports the Environmental department with field monitoring, data input, and equipment operation. The position is full-time for 6 months, with emphasis on learning to safely operate heavy equipment, perform weather station maintenance, and assist with reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience reading maps, using handheld GPS, and working in the field.
• MSHA training, experience using heavy machinery, and towing a trailer.

Responsibilities

• Ability to learn how to safely operate heavy equipment.
• Use of a chainsaw.
• General field monitoring such as wells, springs, etc.
• General data input and reporting.
• Rain gage calibration/weather station maintenance.
• Other field support as needed.

Purpose Of Role

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Scientist, the Laborer will provide support to the Environmental department.

Role Accountabilities

• Ability to learn how to safely operate heavy equipment.

• Other field support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications And Education

• High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reading maps, using handheld GPS, and working in the field.
• Completion of MSHA training.
• Experience using heavy machinery and towing a trailer.
