Job summary

CRH is seeking a construction laborer to perform a variety of manual tasks on asphalt projects in Parsons, WV. You will shovel and rake asphalt, support the crew, and help set up and clean work zones while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

The role requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures, stand for long periods, and be available for day or night shifts. Overtime may be required and career development opportunities exist within the CRH organization.

Job Summary

Laborers are responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks on construction projects including shoveling and raking asphalt material and assisting other crew members as needed to ensure the successful completion of work in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Shovel and rake asphalt.


• Perform general labor duties to support crew and project needs.


• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather.


• Maintain a clean and safe work area.


• Load and unload tools and materials.


• Assist with setting up and cleaning up work zones.


• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.


• Must be able to work as a team and follow direction.


• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to fifty pounds.


• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.


• Must be available for day shift or night shift as needed.


• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.


• Properly use and maintain hand tools and equipment used on the job site.


• Follow all company policies and OSHA guidelines.


• Follow directions of supervisor and communicate effectively with crew and management.


• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.


• Ability to be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes.


• Overtime may be required.


• The ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.


• Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
