Job Summary

We’re seeking a General Laborer committed to safety and performance. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of duties including cleaning the yard, moving materials, setting up specified work on vessels, providing fire watch and assisting other shipyard workers and trades as required. Candidates must be able to work in confined spaces, endure long hours and weekends, and be located in San Diego, California (no relocation).

Responsibilities

• Perform various physical duties as assigned.

• Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials.
• Perform specialized tasks that may require on‑the‑job training.
• Effectively use heavy and light equipment as required.
• Move items according to supervisor direction.
• Follow the company’s safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Attentive to detail and ensures safety at all times.
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co‑workers.

Education Requirements

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, often in prevailing weather conditions. The job may involve exposure to fumes, chemicals, heat, noise, and dust aboard vessels. Safety equipment is required. The candidate must frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical surfaces. The work environment is dynamic and fast‑paced, with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods and remain flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
