Qualifications And Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary/Job Scope

  • Cleans plant as directed to keep it in safe operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Every employee is expected to promote a safe work environment and safe job performance by actively participating in all plant safety programs as directed by the Management.
  • Perform general manual labor throughout the Plant and Quarry as directed.
  • Including but not limited to shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, jackhammering, etc.
  • Report any environmental issues.
  • Report any safety issues/concerns.
  • Assist in any other activities as required.
  • Fill in when trained as needed for other classifications containing vacancies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING: Limited expectation of independent decision-making beyond day-to-day operational tasks. Work under the supervision of a Production Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities.

Competencies

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Tools and Equipment: Includes but not limited to: brooms, pick, shovel, bars, sledge hammer, jack hammer, wheelbarrows, drills, hand tools, steam cleaner, supersucker hose, ball screener, chipping gun, water pumps, etc.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Salary Range: Beginning hourly wage $20.51
