Job summary

Layton Construction is hiring for an entry-level position in Kansas City, KS. The role offers mentorship, opportunities for career progression, and involvement in community activities alongside a focus on safety and teamwork.

The employee will support craft workers on site, learn construction trades, and work within Layton’s standards of honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and emails.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and emails.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Commitment to attendance and meeting production deadlines.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Champions "The Layton Way" by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Provide support to other craft workers on project site of structural construction, heavy concrete construction, demolition, and framing.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas (sweep debris, gather and discard trash, scrap iron and wood, remove snow and ice).
• Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions when clarification is needed.
• Load/unload materials as needed.
• Have minimum tools associated with trade.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety.

Summary
