Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a capable Laborer to perform a range of physically demanding tasks with a focus on safety and efficiency at our Houston site.

You will assist with excavation, concrete forms, and general facility maintenance while adhering to OSHA and company safety rules; prior experience with MSHA/OSHA is appreciated.

Qualifications

• Educational and Licensing Requirements: High School Diploma.
• Experience with MSHA or OSHA, operating hoses, unloading material, utilizing the rail car, and other duties related to the business.
• Ability to read, write & communicate effectively; bilingual skills a plus; adapt to varying tasks and environments; safety prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Safety compliance with Cemex and OSHA rules; wear proper safety gear.
• Adhere to safety standards and perform digging, trenching, and backfilling as needed.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and organization; assist with concrete forms and mixing.
• Engage in minor maintenance tasks and support management on additional duties.
• Perform physical tasks including bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and shoveling.

We’re looking for a responsible and skilled Laborer to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of physically demanding tasks under supervision. This role requires dedication to completing tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Laborer at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Cemex and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations, always wearing proper safety equipment.
• Safety Standards: Strive to meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Excavation and Digging: Execute digging, excavating, trenching, and backfilling operations with precision.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Concrete Work: Construct and dismantle forms for concrete and assist with concrete and castable mixing and pouring.
• Minor Repairs: Engage in minor maintenance and repair activities, providing support where needed.
• Additional Duties: Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management.
• Physical Tasks: Perform various physical tasks including bending, squatting, stooping, sweeping, and shoveling.
