Job summary

City of Brooklyn is seeking a Laborer in the Service Department to assist with maintenance of city streets, buildings and grounds, and related city services. Two openings exist; applications must be submitted by the stated deadline.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid CDL Class B or be able to obtain one within six months of hire. Pay is determined under the Liuna860 contract and the city’s bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High school or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience necessary to perform essential functions of position.
• Must possess a Commercial Drivers License Class B or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repairing of city streets, buildings and grounds, rubbish and recycling, street sweeping, sewer cleaning, leaf pick up, general cleaning, grass cutting and general landscaping.
• Salary will be determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Liuna860.

Laborer-Service Department

The City of Brooklyn invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Laborer in the Service Department. There are currently two (2) openings.
