Job Summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is a construction/engineering company located in Katy, TX. We are hiring a Laborer for a project in Baytown, TX.

Work Site

Baytown, TX. The jobsite will involve construction activities in natural gas and petrochemical settings.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping
• Shoveling dirt, compacting dirt, breaking or chipping concrete
• Removing concrete forms
• Assist craft workers by carrying tools and moving materials to work areas
• Use jack hammers, dirt compactors, dirt shovels, chipping guns/hammers, framing hammers, and crow bars
• Other duties as required

Expectations

• Actively participate in a strong safety culture
• Recognize safety hazards and risks
• Participate in onsite safety meetings
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures
• Be aware of changing conditions on the jobsite
• Be on time each day ready for work
• Display a positive attitude and work in a team environment

Physical Demands

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying objects up to 60 lb.
• Standing for extended periods up to 11 hours per day; breaks given in 2.5 hour intervals.
• Moving the entire body; use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, bending regularly.
• Work on elevated platforms, maintain balance on narrow platforms, wearing full‑body harness and lanyard.
• Good hand‑eye coordination.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools.

Additional Requirements

• Travel is required with extended periods away from home in remote areas.
• Willing and able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.
• Willing and able to work in extreme weather.
• Willing and able to work on scaffolds and at high elevations.
• Willing and able to meet all basic physical requirements.
• Willing and able to attend mandatory safety meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous construction experience.
• Basic knowledge of tools and crafts.
