The Laboratory Technician supports the chemical manufacturing process by performing routine and non-routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products. This role ensures products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements through accurate analysis, documentation, and reporting. The Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in maintaining product integrity, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and ISO/Responsible Care standards.
This position is considered having light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
The employee must be able to stand for extended periods while performing laboratory tasks. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, such as when moving samples or chemical containers. Fine motor skills and visual acuity are necessary for precision work and equipment handling. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
The employee works primarily in a laboratory setting within a manufacturing facility. The environment includes exposure to chemicals, fumes, and laboratory equipment. Proper safety procedures and protective gear must be used at all times. The role may involve occasional work near production areas or outdoors, depending on testing requirements.
Associate degree in chemistry, chemical technology, or a related scientific field is preferred; bachelor’s degree is a plus. Must have 1 to 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical environment.
