Job summary

Ecoservices in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform wastewater and hazardous waste testing per EPA/LA DEQ protocols. The role supports quality assurance, method development, and analytical services across production and lab settings.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in science/technical fields, have 1+ years in chemical processes, and can operate/maintain lab instruments. New grads are encouraged to apply, with a 12-hour rotating shift and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science/technical field or equivalent.
• 1+ years in chemical process industry with lab experience.
• TWIC credentials required.
• Knowledge of ion chromatography, wet chemistry, ICP, and wastewater analyses.
• Able to lift and carry testing equipment within production areas.
• Strong communication, multitasking and teamwork skills.
• Good written and oral presentation skills and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance, special projects and method development tasks.
• Provide analytical support to plant personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Conduct analysis and experimentation for products and processes.
• Analyze finished products, in-process samples, raw materials and wastewater following SOPs.
• Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Support process improvement and safety initiatives in analytics.
• Complete safety and equipment inspections in labs and production units.
• Conduct non-routine chemical and physical tests of materials.
• Perform tests inside the lab and on plant process equipment.
• Document and report analytical results accurately.
